FAQs

Is the Caddy Issues Intercooler Upgrade Kit drop-in/bolt-on/plug-n-play?

Take it out of the box, set it in place, connect the hose clamps, and the system is ready to be filled with coolant.

Do I need extra hardware/parts to install the kit?

One OEM/factory component is reused: the water manifold to intercooler pump
hose (saving you the cost and logistics effort required to obtain another molded
hose). We have a video and instructions demonstrating exactly how to trim the
hose to fit the drop-in tank system.

Only common tools are needed to install the kit (see installation instructions).

Does this kit self-bleed?

Absolutely. Fill & cap the reservoir, then start the pump or drive the car. When
the pump switches on, it begins self-bleeding. As the reservoir level drops, top it
off with additional coolant. After a minute or so, the system will have bled itself
almost completely. Cap the tank and drive the car to dislodge any residual air in
the heat exchangers/intercooler cores, then top off & cap the tank again. The
bleeding process is now complete.

Will this kit get all the air out of my intercooler system?

Yes. Note that:

The OEM system constantly recirculates air bubbles through the intercooler coolant loop, causing ongoing performance issues, noise, and eventually shutting the pump off. To this point, hours and hours spent bleeding the OEM system has just been part of the LF4/LF3 power quest.

The Caddy Issues system uses the tank as a “break” in the system (a “water-gap” if you will). The tank’s primary job is to ALWAYS keep the pump inlet covered with free-flowing coolant; if this happens, air in the system WILL be bled. Air that gets moved through the coolant loop will come back to the intercooler reservoir, accumulating at the top of the tank. As long as _any_ visible coolant remains in the tank, the pump inlet will stay covered, and air will NOT recirculate through the intercooler coolant loop. Air downstream of the tank must go through the system once to be bled, but after the system bleeds itself, it will _stay_ bled.

Does the system come with a replacement for the Vacuum Bleeder Valve?

Yes, a black aluminum screw-in plug (with O-ring) is provided to permanently replace the factory bleeder valve. The plug has a 12mm hex/allen drive, and a tool is included for plug installation/removal using a common 12mm or ½” SAE socket or wrench.

Do you still need to use the bleeder screws on the factory Water Manifold Adapter?

No. Once the Caddy Issues Intercooler Upgrade Kit is installed you will never
have to open either of the two OEM bleeder screws ever again.

Is this kit proven?

Yes. This kit was initially designed, tested, and run during the World’s first 9- second ATS-V ¼-mile pass. Subsequent 9-second ATS-Vs have run this kit during their record-breaking and personal-best passes. These kits have also been used in road-racing, 60-130 and roll-racing, and street driving. Several cars have 2+ years on these kits.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. See the various shipping options on the shopping cart to your country. Local currency is also accepted.
